One day at a time.
Thoughts from the road through grief, memory, holidays, and purpose.
It is live…
Something special went live today. 💛
What I now know…
If you had asked me three years ago if I could post these things… that life can go on, that you will smile again, find peace in moments again, that you will breathe again and that you will continue to want to be here and find purpose in your life… I probably would’ve told you it would never be possible. I never would have imagined that I would wake up smiling thinking about David and not wondering how I would get through another day.
When it is not a “Happy” New Year…
As a society we place so much emphasis on the New Year. But why??? Why do we spend so much time focusing on the future and not today?
Christmas Eve Message from Hobi and David
Hello friends. I don’t often do this as reading my journal entries without having read the book first and seeing all the validations to show how this can be real is often confusing. That being said, this seemed like an important message to get out as I know so many are struggling with the holidays. This is my journal entry from my conversation last night with David and Hobi. We had something else happen today that David told us was going to happen that I cannot share right now, but yet another amazing confirmation that my connection with him is truly real. We are shocked daily and so blessed. I hope sharing our journal entry helps if even in the tiniest of ways to ease your grief during the holiday season.
To decorate or not to decorate…
To decorate or not to decorate???
After glow to exhaustion…
You will find me authentic and real here, just like always. Being truthful about my grief journey to help others does not mean I think your journey will be the same and may not even make your journey easier. What it does do, I believe, is show you I am sincere, relatable, and hopefully gives you some reference to navigate your own journey.

Don’t let the hard days win.
It is easy to let grief keep your heart shattered. Your loved ones are watching, they are with you and they so badly do not want to see you hurting. While we should not think we have to dismiss or not acknowledge our grief when it surges, as that would feel like we are dismissing our loved one, we can work on building our broken heart back up and making it stronger.
Building your Heart Again
I just saw this saying tonight and it is so true!! You loved someone and they are gone. Your heart does not stop missing them. Yes…you WILL grieve forever.
Turning Grief into Purpose: A Mother’s Journey
Grief is a funny thing – well not literally. Nothing about it is funny. But just when you think you have it all figured out, it changes on you. I never imagined writing a book, let alone publishing one. Especially one about my deceased son. I was terrified to put it out there.
Why is this so hard?
